JAPANESE-STYLE Catering

Overview

  • Sushimon’s Japan-themed catering has operated since year 2007.
  • In addition to sushi, we offer Japanese savory dishes, desserts, snacks, drinks (tea, soft drinks, sake, umeshu, craft beer), and—if desired —decor and service in Japanese style.
  • Head Chef Maria Lilje has worked as a chef since 2007; she has 10+ years of restaurant-management experience and extensive practice running caterings and trainings.
  • We also maintain a large inventory of Japanese-style tableware, attire, and decorations for your event.

Program & Experience

If you wish, we can add to the menu an entertaining Japanese program:

  • teenindajad Servers in Japanese attire
  • Chatty chefs sharing stories and etiquette tips from Japanese food culture
  • Guests’ names written in Japanese (on site) names written in Japanese (on site)
  • Mini-workshops (e.g., sushi roll, chopstick etiquette, tea ceremony, etc.)
  • …and much more—customized to the nature of your event

Sample Menu (Savory Dishes)

  • Takoyaki legendary octopus balls topped with katsuobushi (bonito flakes).
  • Okonomiyaki Osaka-style “savory pancake” with cabbage, seafood/bacon, and authentic sauces.
  • Korokke – Japanese potato–beef croquettes, served with a special sauce.
  • Kare udon – mild curry with udon noodles and blanched vegetables (chicken optional).
  • Gyoza – handmade dumplings (pork + prawn) with an especially delicate dipping sauce.
  • Katsudon – panko-breaded pork cutlet on rice with onion–egg–soy broth.
  • Yakitori – charcoal or grill skewers from various chicken cuts.
  • Oyakodon – “parent and child”: chicken and egg on rice in a soy-based broth.

Desserts & Snacks

  • Assorted Japanese sweets (e.g., mochi, dorayaki, matcha bakes)
  • Cold and warm snacks (e.g., edamame, pickled vegetables)

DRINKS

  • Japanese teas (sencha, hōjicha, ceremonial/latte matcha)
  • Sake, umeshu (plum liqueur), craft beer, and non-alcoholic alternatives

Tableware, Service & Style

  • On request, we provide Japanese ceramics and serving ware.
  • It’s possible to dress staff and guests in Japanese attire (by agreement).
  • We adapt menu volume, format, and logistics to the event size (buffet, set menu, live station, “grab & go”).

Special Requests & Diets

  • Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-/lactose-free, and other dietary needs— by prior agreement..
  • We can also offer child- and family-friendly options.
